“From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside – so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat.
No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.
Entwined by our secrets, we tried to defy the odds. We made our own rules and surrendered completely to the exquisite power of possession . . .”
Firstly I’d like to thank the publishers for sending me this book to read and give an honest review. I absolutely love this series and after an exciting ending to book two I couldn’t wait to start this one.
The story picked up where book two had left off – Eva was reeling from what she had discovered and I was keen to see how it would affect her relationship with Gideon. Throughout this series their relationship has kept me gripped to the pages, there have been times when I was rooting for them to work things out and times when I have felt that they should just call it a day! They both had very traumatic pasts and this was something that brought them together, as did the sizzling sexual connection they shared, but outside influences seemed to keep getting in the way.
I found all the characters to be likeable (even the bad guys) and once again I loved Eva’s feisty attitude, she was certainly a good match for the sexy and powerful Gideon who was complicated in so many ways. Magdalene surprised me this time, she was very different and I found myself much more interested in her character. Brett was a favourite of mine and I want more from him (fingers crossed for the next book), I have a lot of questions where he is concerned so I’m hoping he will feature more heavily in future.
There were a couple of very unexpected events which kept me guessing and as I finished the last page I felt kind of lost because I had really enjoyed my time with these characters and I knew I would have to wait to find out more. I can’t really pick a favourite of the three books so far, I have enjoyed them all equally and hope that pattern continues.
As with most books of this genre the Crossfire Series has been compared to the Fifty Shades Series, my personal opinion on this is that the Crossfire Series is miles better – I enjoyed this storyline and writing style far more. I also found the characters more appealing and generally easier to like.
Warning: Entwined With You contained strong language and sexual scenes so if you are likely to be offended by this then it probably isn’t a book for you.
This was another gripping read in a fantastic series, I would definitely recommend it.
