This Is What Happy Looks Like – Jennifer E. Smith

This is what happy looks like

If fate sent you an email, would you answer?

When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O’Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.

Then Graham finds out that Ellie’s Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media’s spotlight at all costs?”

Firstly I’d like to thank Sam Eades from Headline for sending me a proof copy of this book to read and give an honest review.  I really liked the sound of it and, as I’ve said before, I love books that include email communication so I was excited to get started.

The prologue instantly put a smile on my face, it detailed the first emails between Ellie and Graham and they were just so cute! I enjoyed getting to know these two characters as the story progressed and found them to be very likeable.  When Graham tried to move things forward I was keen to see how Ellie would react so when a misunderstanding occurred I was worried that it would send everything in the wrong direction.

Not only was this a wonderful tale of blossoming romance but it also gave an interesting insight into family issues complicated by fame – it definitely showed the darker side of being a celebrity and this was something that I found fascinating.

I loved the ending although I wanted to know more so I would really like to read a sequel please, pretty please 🙂

This was a fantastic read, I was hooked on every word and couldn’t put it down!
