This is a feelgood romantic tale about a woman called Delilah who is stuck in a rut and wants to change her life. Armed with her dog and Tom Jones record collection she heads off to London with nowhere to go, just a business card given to her by a handsome stranger named Charlie.
She starts her London adventure in a café run by Sam, she immediately gets along with him and after letting slip that she doesn’t have anywhere to stay he tells her he has a friend who would take her in – that was definitely a worthwhile coffee!
Something I always do when reading a book is try to predict who will end up together and with this book my predictions were correct although there were a few times when I thought I may be proved wrong.
My favourite character in this story has to be Vivienne, Sam’s friend and the lady who Delilah ends up staying with – she is flamboyant and energetic and has a liking for any male with a pulse!. She becomes a good friend to Delilah while she is finding her feet in London and is also there for her when things start to go a bit pear-shaped.
I really enjoyed this fun, fast paced book and I look forward to reading more from Alexandra Potter.
